1. Applying via Electronic Advance Application System for Post-secondary Programmes (E-APP)
Applicants taking the HKDSE Examination in 2019 can submit the application via E-APP (https://www.eapp.gov.hk) from 6 December 2018 to 14 May 2019 (Main Round) and 21 May to 30 June 2019 (Second Round).

3. Applying in person
Applicant should complete the application form and submit it in person to any of the following Enrolment Centres together with:
  • An application fee of HK$150 
  • Your HKID Card or other identification documents
  • A copy of your academic transcript(s), certificate(s) and examination results

For Local Applicants
The application fee is HK$150 for 2019 entry.  Payment can be made via Visa/MasterCard, online PPS, or in person (e.g. by cash).

For Non-local Applicants*
The application fee is HK$500 for 2019 entry (for interview conducted in Hong Kong).  Payment can be made via Visa/MasterCard, online PPS, or in person (e.g. by cash).

* For mainland applicants who wish to attend interview conducted in mainland, they are required to pay an application fee of RMB$600 instead, please click here for the admissions details.

Please note that the application fee is neither refundable nor transferable.

Non-local applicants1 are those who require the following document(s) issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department to study in Hong Kong.

  • Student visa / Entry permit; or  

  • Visa / Entry permit under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG) ; or

  • Dependant visa / Entry permit (the holder was 18 years old or above when such Visa / Entry permit was issued)

It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to present valid identification documents to prove their identity.   The College reserves the right to revoke the student registration status, should the student fails to present valid identification document upon request of the College.

Applicants may apply for both Associate Degree and the Higher Diploma programmes.  Normally, applicants apply through E-APP or online application will have 3 programme choices, whereas mainland applicants will have 2 choices.  If your first choice of programme is unsuccessful, your application will automatically proceed to your next choice.  In another words you will have only one conditional offer / firm offer for each application.

An applicant who has submitted more than one application may receive more than one offer from different programmes.  However, he / she can enrol and pay the registration / tuition fee for ONE programme only.
For Current DSE Applicants
Applicants will be invited to an information session / interview.  Successful applicants will normally receive a conditional offer within 2 weeks by email.
For Applicants with Qualifications Other than Current DSE
Applicants will be invited to an information session / interview.  Successful applicants will normally receive a conditional offer or firm offer within 1 month by email, after all the required documents have been submitted. 
Applicants are advised to check their status via the “Applicant Self-Enquiry System”.

You should demonstrate you understand the programme well and have genuine interest in it.  There is no need to be nervous, instead, you should treat the interview as a chance to communicate with your future teachers.  Relax and be yourself!

For current DSE applicants who meet the conditions after the release of 2019 HKDSE Examination results, please go to our Campus (College Hall, G/F, HKU SPACE Community College (Kowloon East Campus)) from 10:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. on 10 July 2019 to claim the offer and secure the study place.  Please be reminded to bring along the Conditional Offer Email with the original and a copy of the following:

  1. HKID Card and / or other identification document(s) (e.g. Dependant Visa, One-way Permit)
  2. 2019 HKDSE Examination Results Notice
  3. HKDSE certificates for all years of attempt (if any)
  4. Certificate(s) and / or transcript(s) of other qualifications (if any)

For applicants with qualifications other than current DSE, please follow the instructions stated in the Conditional Offer Email.

The College reserves the right to withdraw the offer if the applicant failed to claim the offer before the prescribed deadline, even if all the required conditions have been met.

The College will consider your 2nd or 3rd programme choice.  You will be notified of the updated arrangement (if any) by SMS or email in 2 working days after the release of HKDSE examination results.  You may apply again if there are no updates from the College, provided that you met the minimum entrance requirement for the respective programme.  Kindly note whether the application is successful or not will rest on the programme availability, interview performance, and the academic results of the applicant.

Current DSE applicants are required to settle the registration fee by noon of 15 July 2019, and settle the balance payment thereafter by 6 August 2019.   For applicants with qualifications other than current DSE, the payment deadline of 1st tuition fee will normally be 2-5 working days after issuance of offer letter.  Failing to settle the payment by the deadline will result in offer being automatically withdrawn by the College.  Applicants are strongly advised to refer to their offer letter for the respective payment deadlines in case of doubt.
ApL Chinese (for non-Chinese speaking students) can be accepted as an alternative Chinese Language qualification.  However, applicants should have grade "Attained" or above for the subject.
Also, applicants who take GCE or GCSE Chinese with grade E or above will also be regarded as an acceptable alternative Chinese Language qualification.
The College will review the relevant documents (e.g. transcript) of the applicant on a case by case basis.  Applicants are advised to bring along all the documents which demonstrate their academic abilities for application.  
Students with relevant post-secondary education background may apply for credit transfer for their previous academic qualifications.  Application form for credit transfer can be downloaded by clicking the link here. Students should submit the application form with supporting documents 20 working days before the commencement of each semester. The supporting documents should include but not limited to the course syllabus, course learning outcomes, Qualifications Framework Level, academic performance, year of award, contact hours etc. A maximum of 50% of the total credits of a College programme might be transferred from students’ previous studies.
Unless otherwise specified and language courses, all courses in HKU SPACE Community College are instructed in English.
